Today Magenta employs a diverse workforce across Queensland and New South Wales and provides supports and services for people accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and My Aged Care (MAC). 

About the role 

We are looking for empathetic, experienced and professional Support Workers to join Toowoomba region. You will provide heartfelt care and support to a range of diverse clients residing in Toowoomba, varying in complexity of needs and support. You will play a pivotal role in assisting them to achieve their goals. In addition to making a difference in this person’s life you will be a part of a values-aligned team and work closely with a supportive family and network of health professionals. 

About you 

To be successful in this role you will be passionate about providing individualised and flexible support to people of all abilities and backgroundsYou will have significant experience working with people who have high support needs including people who communicate non-verbally, require personal care support, experience anxiety and obsessive, compulsive behaviours and have Positive Behaviour Support plans in place.  You will have a love of learning and the ability to remain calm under pressureWe call this being a professional with heart”.  

 Essential Requirements include:  

  • Minimum of three years’ experience working in a care role with some experience supporting people with complex or high support needs.   
  • The ability to problem solve, read cues, adapt and respond calmly in any situation. 
  • Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices. 
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check; 
  • Working with Children’s Check; 
  • COVID-19 Vaccine as per NSW Health directive  
  • National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months)  
  • Current First Aid & CPR Certificate  
  • Current Australian Driver’s License  
  • Own vehicle with comprehensive car insurance. 

 

The following experience would be highly regarded: 

 

  • Minimum Certificate III in Individualised Support or other relevant discipline. 
  • Experience with key word signing and / or communication partner training will be advantageous. 
  • Training in TCI will be highly regarded but this training will be provided to the successful candidates. 
  • Experience working in mental health or aged care could be particularly helpful in this role.
