Support Partner – Generalist
Support. Lead. Make a difference.
Are you an experienced Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career?
We’re looking for a passionate and capable Support Partner to join our team in a full-time hybrid role, combining hands-on participant support with administration, rostering and day-to-day House Leader responsibilities.
This is an opportunity to use your experience not only to provide great support to participants, but also to lead by example, support your team and help ensure the house operates safely, effectively and with participants at the centre of everything we do.
About the Role
As a Support Partner, you’ll split your time between direct participant support and operational responsibilities.
Approximately 65% of your role will involve hands-on participant support, with the remaining 35% dedicated to administration, workforce coordination and House Leader responsibilities.
You’ll be responsible for helping ensure participants receive safe, responsive and person-centred support while also providing guidance and leadership to the team supporting them.
Your day-to-day will include:
-
Providing hands-on support to NDIS participants with low to moderate support needs, including Community Access and Daily Living supports.
-
Supporting participants to achieve their individual goals, build independence and engage meaningfully in their community.
-
Acting as a key point of contact for Support Workers, participants and relevant stakeholders.
-
Coordinating and maintaining effective staff rosters, including responding to unplanned changes and workforce requirements.
-
Supporting the day-to-day operation of the house and ensuring it remains safe, organised and participant-focused.
-
Providing guidance, mentoring and coaching to Support Workers.
-
Conducting team briefings, debriefs and informal staff check-ins.
-
Supporting staff performance, engagement and workforce stability.
-
Completing administration, documentation, reporting and participant-related tasks.
-
Supporting incident management and ensuring concerns are appropriately documented and escalated.
-
Monitoring compliance with participant support plans, WHS requirements, NDIS Practice Standards and Magenta policies and procedures.
-
Identifying opportunities to improve the quality and consistency of supports.
-
Working collaboratively with the Support Specialist and wider leadership team.
What makes this role different?
This is not a desk-based coordination role.
You’ll be actively involved in the lives of the people we support and will work alongside your team on the frontline. At the same time, you’ll have the opportunity to develop your leadership and operational skills through rostering, administration, staff support and House Leader responsibilities.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems, supporting others and taking ownership.
What You’ll Bring
You’ll be someone who is confident working independently, communicates well and genuinely enjoys working with people.
You’ll bring:
-
Demonstrated experience supporting people with disability, including cognitive and psychosocial support needs.
-
Experience working in a fast-paced disability support environment.
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-
A positive and supportive approach to mentoring and coaching staff.
-
Experience with rostering, workforce coordination or similar operational responsibilities.
-
Strong organisation and time-management skills.
-
The ability to manage competing priorities and respond calmly to changing circumstances.
-
A sound understanding of person-centred practice and the NDIS Practice Standards.
-
The confidence to identify risks, respond to incidents and escalate concerns appropriately.
-
A strong commitment to participant rights, dignity, choice and independence.
-
A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.
Mandatory Requirements
-
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.
-
Valid Working with Children Check (NSW).
-
National Police Check issued within the last 12 months.
-
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
-
Australian Driver Licence.
-
Access to a reliable, insured vehicle with comprehensive insurance.
-
COVID-19 vaccination.
Desirable
-
Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services or an equivalent qualification.
-
Previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, House Leader, Team Leader or similar.
-
Experience working within supported accommodation or a similar environment.
-
Experience using participant management and rostering systems, such as FlowLogic.
-
Restrictive Practices training.
-
Experience coordinating staff and managing complex workforce requirements.
