Complex Support Worker - Lismore
Job No:
MCS112947
Location:
Lismore
Make a real difference. Be a professional with heart.
At Magenta Community Services, we don’t just provide support — we walk alongside people as they build meaningful, independent lives.
We’re looking for an experienced and emotionally intelligent Support Worker to join our Lismore team, supporting participants with complex and high support needs. This is a role for someone who understands that behaviour is communication, who stays calm under pressure, and who leads with both skill and compassion.
If you’re confident supporting people with trauma histories, non-verbal communication, seizures, personal care requirements and Positive Behaviour Support Plans — and you believe every person deserves dignity, choice and genuine connection — we’d love to hear from you.
What You’ll Be Doing
No two days look the same — but you can expect to:
-
Provide person-centred, flexible support aligned to participant goals
-
Deliver personal care, medication assistance and daily living support
-
Follow and consistently apply Positive Behaviour Support Plans
-
Maintain clear, timely documentation and case notes
-
Work collaboratively with families and guardians
-
Advocate for participants in collaboration with Magenta and your Support Specialist
-
Uphold safety, compliance and respectful practice at all times
You’ll be supported by your Support Specialist and broader leadership team — you’re not expected to navigate complexity alone.
About You
You are calm, confident and grounded.
You understand complexity — and you don’t shy away from it.
You value structure, documentation and compliance — but you never lose sight of the human in front of you.
You will have:
-
Certificate III in Individualised Support (or equivalent)
-
Minimum 3 years’ disability support experience
-
Experience supporting people with high or complex needs
-
Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices
-
Confidence supporting seizures, non-verbal communication and trauma-informed care
You’ll also hold:
-
NDIS Worker Screening Check
-
Blue Card (Working With Children Check)
-
National Police Check (within 12 months)
-
Current First Aid & CPR
-
Current Australian Driver’s Licence
-
Own vehicle with comprehensive insurance
-
COVID-19 vaccination (as per QLD Health directive)
-
Training in TCI, Maybo or similar (highly regarded)
