Ready to step up and grow your career in disability support?
At Magenta, we believe great support starts with great people. That’s why we put our team at the heart of everything we do — offering flexibility, mentoring, and genuine career growth, while helping the people we support live safe, meaningful lives.
If you’ve been in the disability sector for a while and are ready to take the next step, the Support Partner – Complex Needs role offers a mix of hands-on participant support (around 65%) and office-based coordination and leadership (around 35%). It’s ideal for someone who enjoys direct support but also wants to develop skills in mentoring, rostering, and compliance.
What you’ll do:
-
Deliver safe, person-centred support to participants with complex needs, including those supported under SIL, ILO, and Child Safety arrangements
-
Build professional relationships with participants, families, and key stakeholders while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
-
Coordinate and adjust rosters to maintain stable, consistent coverage — balancing award, WHS, and fatigue management requirements
-
Respond to roster changes, participant risks, or support worker capacity in real time, escalating high-risk issues to the Support Specialist
-
Act as a house leader — mentoring and supporting frontline staff through shift briefings, debriefs, and informal check-ins
-
Identify training needs within your team and assist the Support Specialist with development planning
-
Implement Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and reinforce trauma-informed care strategies
-
Support staff to meet documentation and compliance standards, ensuring shift notes, incident reports, and restrictive practice logs are accurate and completed within required timeframes
-
Participate in audits, case discussions, and continuous improvement processes
-
Contribute to on-call duties on a rotating basis to maintain service stability
What you’ll bring:
-
Extensive experience supporting people with complex disabilities, cognitive, or psychosocial needs
-
Strong understanding of NDIS Practice Standards, restrictive practice obligations, and human rights frameworks
-
Demonstrated ability to manage rosters in a dynamic, high-risk support environment
-
Excellent written and digital documentation skills with strong attention to detail
-
A calm, supportive leadership style and the ability to mentor others effectively
-
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
-
Confidence communicating with participants, families, and external providers
-
Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, or equivalent (or working towards) — highly regarded
-
Familiarity with client management and rostering systems such as FlowLogic is an advantage
Why you’ll love working with Magenta:
-
A people-first culture — we support our staff as much as our participants
-
Hybrid work — combine participant-facing work with leadership and coordination responsibilities
-
Career growth — step into leadership and build your skills in mentoring, rostering, and compliance
-
SCHADS Award Level 3.1 – 3.3 + supportive, collaborative team
-
Work that genuinely makes a difference, every single day
