The Role:
Join Magenta as a Support Worker and make a profound impact in the life of a young woman with complex needs. In this role, you'll offer compassionate care and support to help her achieve her personal goals, including engaging in social activities, cooking, and managing daily tasks. You'll be integral in her journey, working closely with a values-driven team and a network of dedicated family members and health professionals. With a 2:1 rostered shift system, you'll thrive in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Participant Information:
Our participant lives independently in her own home and has unique and complex needs that require a supportive and active approach. Her care involves engaging with her through various activities, and while some physical tasks are required, including the potential for physical restraint, these are managed in a safe and structured way. The family is deeply involved and provides a supportive network, enhancing the collaborative nature of this role. We are looking for someone energetic and compassionate, ready to be part of a dedicated team working together to support her well-being and personal goals.
What We’re Looking For:
• Experience with individuals who have:
• High Support Needs
• Complex Behaviours
• Restrictive practices – environmental (Seclusion) and physical types
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices
• Non-verbal communication – Key word signing
• Dynamic environment – ability to problem solve, read cues, adapt and respond calmly in any situation.
Essential Qualifications:
• NDIS Worker Screening Check
• Working with Children’s Check
• COVID-19 vaccination
• National Police Check
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
Desirable qualifications include:
• Therapeutic Crisis Interventions Certification
• Certificate III in Individualised Support or other relevant discipline
