The Role: 

Join Magenta as a Support Worker and make a profound impact in the lives of our clients with complex care needs. You will provide heartfelt care and support to our participants with complex and high support needs and play a pivotal role in assisting them to achieve their goals. 

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will be passionate about providing individualized and flexible support to people of all abilities and background. You will have significate experience working with people with high support needs including people who experience seizures, communicate non-verbally, have a history of trauma, require personal care support, assistance with medication and have Positive Behaviour Support plans in place.  You will have a love of learning and the ability to remain calm under pressure.  We call this being “a professional with heart”.  

What We’re Looking For:
• Experience with individuals who have:
• High Support Needs
• Complex Behaviours
• Restrictive practices – environmental (Seclusion) and physical types
• Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and Restrictive Practices
• Non-verbal communication – Key word signing
• Dynamic environment – ability to problem solve, read cues, adapt and respond calmly in any situation.
 

 Essential Qualifications:
• NDIS Worker Screening Check 
• Working with Children’s Check 
• COVID-19 vaccination (This is a mandatory requirement)
• National Police Check
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate
 

Desirable qualifications include:
• Therapeutic Crisis Interventions Certification
• Certificate III in Individualised Support or other relevant discipline
